How to get long lashes and thick eyebrows : all natural

Have you always wanted long lashes and thick eyebrows? Me too!

A lot of women overplucked their eyebrows in the 90s. Now there is a whole new trend : Full and thick eyebrows. A disaster for the people who have thin and sparse eyebrows right now. I have the same problem, but I got it from genetics. I have found a simple but effective recipe that really helped me. You only need 4 things, and it’s very easy but also very effective. The method is completely natural, vegan and does not have any side effects (except for when you’re allergic to one of the ingredients used). This method really helped me and that’s why I wanted to share it with you.

Recipe :

  • Castor oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Vitamin E or jojoba oil
  • A small container

Search for an old small (make- up) container and clean it thoroughly. After that you want to fill the container 1/3 with castor oil, 1/3 with coconut oil and 1/3 with vitamin E or jojoba oil. Mix the ingredients together. There you go, your own eyelash and eyebrow serum!

How to use :

Wash your eyebrows and eyelashes so they are free of make-up and any other products. You can use your finger or an old mascara brush that you have cleaned. Apply a bit of the serum to your eyelashes and eyebrows. Massage your eyebrows gently and make sure to apply the serum from the roots of your eyelashes. You don’t need that much, a few drops are enough ( 1 or 2). Repeat this process a few times a week.

First check if you are allergic to any of the products used in this recipe. I hope this helps!

How to thrift shop: for beginners

Cheap, good for the environment and super durable:

Does it get any better? Did you almost ran out of money again, but you can’t wait to shop for new clothes? Try thrift shopping. The phenomenom ‘Thrift shopping’ is getting more and more popular in the US and the UK, all over the globe really! And there is a good reason for it. For a quater of the money (or less) that you normally pay for your clothes you can get twice as much. These clothes are as good and you’re helping the world too!

When you are new to thrift shopping all of the clothes stacked up one another can be overwhelming. But, when you are familiar with it, you are going to love it!

To help you with your thrift shopping adventures, I have gathered 20 tips and hacks to make the progress a little easier

1 : Always have cash on hand

A lot of thrift stores and thrift markets do not accept credit or debit cards. Make sure you always have cash on hand to prevent yourself from getting into awkward situations. It would be horrible when you finally found that perfect sweatshirt and you didn’t have the cash to pay it!

2 : Only buy the clothes that you REALLY love!

Don’t fall in to the ‘but it’s so inexpensive trap’. You’ll only end up buying too many things that you won’t wear because they just are not perfect.

3 : Try to look everywhere

When thrift shopping, try to look everywhere. Remember, the most beautiful gems are the hardest to find. Don’t just look at the top, but put your hand into the pile of clothes so you can inspect every piece of clothing, otherwise you will miss a lot.

4 : Get a tailor or learn to make alterations yourself

Sometimes you will find the perfect piece of clothing, but if doesn’t fit perfectly. This way it’s disappointing to wear the clothes because they don’t feel comfortable. Try to get a tailor to fix the problems, or learn to do it yourself.

5 : Know what not to buy

There are a few things you shouldn’t get from thrift stores, here is a small list: Helmets, make-up, mattresses, underwear, running shoes, appliances

6 : Shop seasonally

Just as in regular stores, the best prices in thrift stores come at the end of the season. This way you can buy much more for less money.

7 : Check clothes carefully

Some clothes have stains, lose treads, buttons that are missing and other problems. Turn the clothes inside out to get a better look. Is the piece of clothing still worth buying? If yes, take it. If no, leave it.

8 : Try to negotiate

Don’t be scared to ask for some kind of discount. This might be harder to do at bigger thrift stores like goodwill but at thrift markets this is certainly possible.

9 : Visit often

Thrift stores have new items all the time. They don’t only have seasonal clothing but all year round new things are coming in. It’s worth visiting around once per month.

10 : Dress in easy to remove layers

Not every thrift store has a fitting room. If you wan’t to fit a piece of clothing before you but it (what is recommended) you have to wear separate layers of clothing that you can take off. One of the layers has to be close to the skin, this way you can try on clothes without showing too much skin.
